A little bit about Jeff.....

At one point Jeff Cameron was an ex-athlete with a lot of opinions espoused at a local pub near you. Then, fully recognizing that his best days (athletically) had past him by while sitting the bench at East Tennessee St. he figured out how to make a living while fully utilizing his gift of gab; or as some like to call it B.S.'ing

In 1995, while working as a counselor for Appalachee Center for Human Services, Jeff answered a call to do a one hour show in the middle of nowhere, AKA Chattahoochee. After enthralling the masses (and by that we mean fat people) at the local mental hospital Jeff's fame began to take hold. Former program director Lee Bowen (R.I.P.) heard Jeff's tape and decided to put him on mornings here in Tallahassee. After a while he was paired with Matt Millar, producer extraordinaire.

Based on their shared experiences in their time at FSU, their love for ice cold beer and sports, the two immediately developed a rapport. As they grew so too did the station. Eventually Jeff moved to afternoons and has never looked back.

He is married to a woman that he fully admits is a better person than he is, thus, keeping him grounded. They welcomed their first baby boy into the world in November of 2007. They have a big dog named Carl and two cats named Smooter and El.

Jeff grew up in the Tampa/St. Pete area, and has the fortunate distinction of having played alongside future Nole William Floyd at Lakewood High. Do not over look this as Jeff will be quick to tell you he started (we looked it up and...he did) with William in their magical 10-0 season. We have a feeling William contributed to the overall success of that season just a tad more than Jeff, but as Jeff would put it, "hey, at least I played ball, Matt was in the freakin' band!"

These days you can hear Cameron's pointed yet humorous stylings from 3pm to 6pm on 1270 The Team as Tallahassee's number one local talk show host (he insists on being referred to as such).

Jeff visits the Windy City (and looks quite the pimp in his brown Pimp Jacket)

Jeff's dog (and frequent character guest name on the show) Carl:

Thank God!  Jeff finds his favorite place in the world in Chicago:

Jeff and Matt show off their pumpkin carving skills at Halloween time.
Matt's pumpkin clearly has the better design.  Although Jeff's pumpkin DID include two teardrop tattoos because of his run-in with the residents of the local Pumpkin Prison - he killed two people apparently.

Not sure what this picture is, or what he's looking at... But he's wearing
a Florida Marlins World Series ring, and thats what he really wanted
to show off in this particular shot.

Why the hell won't BJ Upton run?

At this point, the Rays might lose him - not physically, but mentally.

Last night, Upton hits a double off the wall and trots into second. Only problem, the first baseman caught the relay throw and ran up behind him trotting into second.  Out.

3rd time BJ has been caught not giving full effort.  Did the light finally go off for him?

Jeff and Matt discuss the situation on Tuesday:Click Here

The Osceola's Ira Schoffel joins the program today as he does every Tuesday.  This week not as lively as last week's QB discussion, but has some important topics discussed.

Those being, the 3 headed monster battle going on at QB, the utilization of Greg Carr (best WR's in 10 years?), how thin the OL looks (although it does look better) and "the best play that Ira has ever seen on the FSU practice field"

Hear what it was by listening to the segment here:Click Here

** And breaking news **

It looks like Tavares Pressley will be accepted to FSU.  Not official, but sources close to the show have confirmed to Jeff

And finally, some unwarranted talk about Locked Up: Abroad

How we got on to the subject, who will know.  For some reason, it was about an email about FSU football winning a championship, and an argument Jeff had with someone in a dream.

Huh?  How do you go from that to Locked Up:Abroad?

Either way, hear the segment here, and learn why you should never pick up hashish when you're in Korea:Click Here

Monday Monday
Monday 08-18-2008 5:28pm ET

***

Ah, hell yes.  Today marks August the 18th, and with 1 week of pre-season practice left, it is safe to say that football season is officially underway.

No more "its almost here", no more breaking down position battles that haven't started yet - we are in full motion here folks.

Jeff gets started on Monday discussing the QB battle.  D-Vo, Ponder, or Drew?  Why stay with the safe guy when you're not expected to do much?

If they don't throw a risk out there, how big is the reward?

Hear Jeff get in full football motion in the opening hour here:Click Here

More football talk, plus some NFL talk for some good measure.

Jeff continues to break down the QB battle, how the OL has improved, and what to look forward to as summer practice winds down.

Some good debates, then some talk about the Bucs and Dolphins and their pre-season showings

A loosey goosey Friday edition
Friday 08-15-2008 4:56pm ET

***

Matt is agitated.  Not too sure why.  Maybe it stemmed from last nights run-in at Kleman Plaza.

Matt didn't have a dollar to enter the garage.  Apparently you now have to pre-pay to get in?  Who knew?

With every intention to pay the dollar, Matt had a few (unnecessary) choice words for the parking lot attendant.

Jeff recounts the event (as he was behind Matt at the time) here.  Also some bonus talk of ghosts! Hear the segment here:Click Here

And Jeff feels the need to pile on and give yet another recount of last evening's events:Click Here

Where in the hell is Tavares Pressley's grades already?  Apparently they were finalized and mailed on September 6th, 1994 and they're still not here yet.

What gives?

Jeff tries to find out when the hell he can hit the field.  He's got the grade, but we're waiting on the damn Postal Service?

Hear the segment here:Click Here

For some reason, we got to talking about the Olympics with a Holland and South Korea softball update.

That talk led into the sport of fencing.

Has there ever been such a weird sport?  They don't even use real swords.

Jeff lets you know how - and why - he would whip anyones ass at fencing.  Literally.

Redemption Thursday (almost)
Thursday 08-14-2008 5:11pm ET

***

Thursday on the show got off to an odd start.

Some talk about Nick Saban and how we think he is shady brought out discussion of the Miami Dolphins, Scott Peterson (rot in hell you bastard), Vince Namoli, and the late Hugh Culverhouse of Tampa Bay Bucs lore.

For some reason it was time for wishing death on people and talking about such during the 3pm hour.

Hear the segment for yourself here:Click Here

(unless you're a big Saban or Scott Peterson fan - and if you are, you are f**ked)

There was a nice article in the Orlando Sentinel today about Jon Gruden and how he went out of his way and took time from his day to sincerely welcome a disabled young fan to the practice field.

Most people put Gruden in a bad light, saying he has no heart and isn't dedicated to the players who have built the franchise.  The exact opposite must be true.

Jeff discusses Jon's off the field misunderstanding by some folks, and how the Bucs coaches will never get a fair shake from the fans in Tampa

Thursday's on the Jeff Cameron show throughout the football season will feature the administrator and founder of Warchant.com, Gene Williams aka Dot Com, who will join the program each Thursday at 4:05.

We get started on the season today with Gene talking FSU football practice, the helmet clash, academic qualifiers, and much more.

Wednesday 08-13-2008 2:20pm ET

So last night, I decided to cut my own hair.  Hell, I use a #2 on the sides and cut the top with scissors as short as possible typically, so I figured ths wouldn't be too difficult.  As it turns out, ooooopsy, trimmed too close.  At that point, you have to find out what ya got, and so I said, "screw it, I'm going all the way."

Here is the result.

Laugh if you want but I was pleased to find out that my head is symmetrical unlike some of the sad saps I see trying to pull off this look on a daily basis.  I think I'll rather enjoy this stint ast Mr. Clean; sans the earring, anyways.

Besides, it has been suggested that Mr. Clean subliminally represented something of a "mystery man" for housewives at home alone cleaning the house.  Whatever that means.  :)
